Welcome to Izzie The Glampervan

When we are not using her, our modern, fully equipped campervan,  ‘Izzie', is available to rent sited at our home, in Eastling near Faversham, Kent.

Izzie is perfect for family glamping, a romantic getaway, or as a base for a short stay in the beautiful Kent countryside. She would make an ideal ‘spare bedroom’ if you want to stay-over when visiting friends or relatives nearby – perhaps for a wedding or other special occasion?

We call her Izzie the Glampervan'!

Perhaps you are thinking of buying a campervan or motorhome yourself? Spend a night or two in Izzie to see if you like it.

Izzie is available on a self-catering basis, but the cost includes a breakfast hamper of locally-sourced products whenever possible. Electricity, LPG and water all included.

Up to two children under 16 can come free if accompanied by parents or guardian.

Discover the Charm of Izzie

Izzie offers a unique glamping experience with modern amenities at an affordable price.

Accommodation

Izzie is a Swift Bolero campervan with the popular French Bed layout.

The main habitation door is on the nearside and opens to a comfortable lounge / dining area directly behind the cab seats. These both swivel and, along with the double opposing settees, there is plenty of seating.

Opposite the door is the fully equipped kitchen area with gas hob, oven and grill, sink and microwave. Next comes a full height cupboard / wardrobe. Finally on the offside there is a shower and washroom, incorporating a cassette toilet and vanity hand-basin.

There is a double fixed bed with storage area underneath in the rear nearside corner, separated from the living space by a foldable screen.

To the right of the habitation door is a large fridge with freezer box above.

The settees in the lounge easily convert to provide a second double bed, ideal for children. We’d say that Izzie sleeps 2 adults comfortably, 2 adults plus 2 children, or 4 adults at a push.

A round swivel table will meet most of your needs, but if this doesn't prove big enough there is a folding rectangular table stowed next to the bedroom.

The unit is very airy with lots of natural light. You’ll find there’s plenty of storage space for clothing and all your essentials. There is central heating and plenty of conventional electrical sockets and USB ports for other appliances.

Externally there is more storage space and a wind-out canopy to relax under. There are auxiliary power-points on the outside too.

Experience the joy of glamping without compromising on comfort!

Location, location, location

We are located in Eastling, a small, picturesque village situated in the Kent Downs National Landscape, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Izzie sits in a traditional Kent orchard surrounded by farmed landscape. Nearby we have ancient bluebell woodlands, dry valleys, quaint villages and rare chalk grassland. We have direct access onto miles of footpaths, making us a great location to explore the ever-changing Kent countryside.

Our nearest town, some 4 miles away, is charming Faversham, the oldest market town in Kent. We are just 14 miles from historic Canterbury and 13 miles from the fashionable coastal town of Whitstable, famous for its oysters.

For those looking to explore further afield we are only 30 miles from the Channel Ports and less than 60 miles from London.

Eastling has a great village pub which is only a short walk from us. There are no shops in the village, but Faversham has a number of supermarkets and grocery shops.

Izzie - a comfortable base to come home to after enjoying the great outdoors with your loved ones.

Your Site

Izzie is parked in splendid isolation in our own traditional orchard and paddocks which extend to some 2 acres. We live on site and will be available to assist you during your stay.

You should find the location particularly quiet and peaceful. Apart from your hosts you will have the site to yourself. There is plenty of sitting-out space and you are free to roam and play in the orchard.

There is room to park 1 car on the driveway. Additional parking available by prior arrangement.

We have lots of friendly animals on site including a pony, dogs, cats, geese, chickens, turkeys, ducks, peafowl, guinea fowl and 6 beehives. Children in particular will love petting the animals.

Create memorable moments with your special someone tucked away in nature.

Things to do

Walking / Hiking: We have direct access to a public footpath which connects to an extensive network of traffic-free public rights of way. Although the Kent Downs are undulating, the hills tend not to be too steep, so it is ideal for walkers whether you are just looking for a short stroll or a longer cross-country hike. Just 5 miles to the south is The Pilgrims’ Way, the historical route taken by pilgrims from Winchester to Canterbury which follows an ancient trackway probably in existence since the Stone Age.

Birdwatching: We have all the usual songbirds, garden birds and corvids (rooks, crows, magpies, jays) but we also get some more unusual visitors. We have had buzzards nesting in our tall evergreens, and we often see Red Kites flying over. Owls and woodpeckers roost in our trees. The local woods are home to the elusive Hawfinch, but you will be lucky if you spot one as they tend to hide high up in the treetops. In addition, we are only 7 miles from Oare Marshes Nature Reserve. This site is of international importance for migratory, overwintering and breeding wetland birds, and consists of grazing marsh, with freshwater dykes, open water scrapes, reedbed, saltmarsh and seawall.

Eating / drinking: Don’t fancy cooking? No problem. We are blessed to have an excellent pub, The Carpenters Arms, at the heart of the village. This serves great pub food all week except Mondays. Faversham has a wide range restaurants, cafes and inns that cater for most tastes. There are also numerous takeaway outlets - don't expect a delivery service though, we are out of range!

Local Attractions

Faversham (5 miles) – there’s a wealth of things to do and see in this beautiful old market town where a warm-welcome always awaits. Standing on the old Roman Road, Watling Street, Faversham has a long and illustrious past. There are over 300 listed buildings, museums, and numerous links to its industrial heritage. Over time Faversham has been an important centre for shipbuilding, gunpowder production and brewing. But it’s not all olde-worlde charm and antique shops. Since gaining super-fast train links to London, Faversham has undergone something of a cultural revival. It is now known just as much for its cutting-edge art galleries, inventive cuisine, funky cultural quarters and chic coffee shops as it is for its glorious past. We'd highly recommend a visit to quirky Standard Quay.

Canterbury (13 miles) - the medieval walled city has been hosting visitors for more than 1,000 years, so a warm welcome for any 'pilgrim' is guaranteed. Although it’s renowned for its trio of UNESCO World Heritage Sites—Canterbury Cathedral, St. Augustine’s Abbey, and St. Martin’s Church – Canterbury has so uh more to offer. It is great for shopping with a huge mix of independent and high street shop. It has award-winning restaurants, inns and cafes. There are plenty of exciting events and festivals on the calendar, and beautiful cosy spots to curl up with a drink and watch the world go by, especially on the banks of the River Stour.

Belmont House and Gardens (3 miles) - The focus of Belmont is the elegant 18th century house, one of the most prestigious historic houses in Kent. Commanding stunning views over the surrounding Estate and the rolling Kentish North Downs, this unique house contains mementos of the Harris family's history and travels. Within the house itself lies three exciting collections: the armoury, collected by five generations of the Harris family (Lords of the estate for 200 years); the Cazabon collection, the finest collection of Cazabon paintings in Britain; and the Clock Museum, an extraordinary horological collection created by the 5th Lord Harris. The gardens are splendid too.

Leeds Castle (10 miles) – dubbed ‘The Most Beautiful Castle in England', Leeds Castle offers an experience to remember. Take in the glorious scenery, stroll through acres of magnificent gardens, explore the history of a castle run by queens and heiresses, experience the heritage created by owners past, and learn of lavish parties with Hollywood’s finest. No matter your interests, there are lots of things to do and experience.

We're ideally placed to explore Kent’s beautiful countryside and vibrant local culture.
